April Ann Fong 10/28/2016 1:30 PMLast day!
Wow that went fast! I can't believe that processed food is the hardest one for me (not just cookies, but white rice, rice noodles, and pasta!). Being thankful is kind of fun. Keeping track of purchases was easier than I thought! Okay...last posted thankfulnesses: this cool city, which tries to do a lot of positive environmental things, walking, which is just a nice healthy way to get around, and my habitat team, which is going to go remove invasive species today! Thank you. -
April Ann Fong 10/27/2016 1:17 PMDay 14!
Wow, this went fast. 3 things to be grateful for today: Nansen Summit is a nice local aerobic workout with a great view, peanut butter (so filling! and delicious!), and the water bottle filling stations (so easy to use!). :D Buying beer today at our office gettogether. That's it! -
April Ann Fong 10/26/2016 5:33 PMDay 13!
3 things to be thankful for: the PCC shuttle and not needing to drive in this mornings traffic, being close enough to walk to work usually, and being a full-time instructor. I bought two teas today, kindle books, and some Thai veggie food! Yoga tonight woo! -
April Ann Fong 10/25/2016 4:06 PMDay 12!
Well, I feel so much better--it is incredible!!! Woo hoo! Go immune system! My walk/jog class walked a long way today and then practiced going up and down a hill (20 sec up and back down, 30 sec up and back down, 45 seconds and back down, then all the way up!). Phew! I haven't bought anything today. Eating simply still, my poor tummy says thank you. Three Things to be thankful for: homemade applesauce (thanks for canning with me Mike!), kombucha (yummy and good for tummies!), and my wonderful walk/jog/wog teacher Shannon! :D -
April Ann Fong 10/23/2016 2:18 PMDay 10! Okay, I went to school to finish our Biology 102 manual! Yay--it is done! I'm starting to feel human again. Hopefully, I'll be 100% soon! I dropped off my ballot today! No buying today or sugar. 3 things to be thankful for: colleagues that think it's worthwhile to write our own lab manual to save lots of money for our students, coconuts (they are so good!), and friends that understand my geeky jokes (an atom walks into a bar...). -
April Ann Fong 10/22/2016 2:03 PMStaying in today to make sure I recover from this flu! No buying or sugar. 3 things to be thankful for: sunshine today :) , being alive (Rest in peace, Dean Kruse, colleague of 23 years. Sorry to miss your memorial today.), and my golden bears (sorry ducks). -
April Ann Fong 10/21/2016 8:38 AMDay 8!
I am starting to feel better, but am still tired. Don't think I'll get 50 minutes of exercise today. I will eat well--a sickie can't eat bad things! I will go buy food at the co-op today--only good things I promise. 3 things to be thankful for: having a nice co-op nearby to buy good food, down comforters to keep me warm, and laundry machines (gah! how did people pound clothes on rocks before?!). -
April Ann Fong 10/20/2016 12:12 PMDay 7!
I have a bug and feel sick. No buying things. No sugar or processed foods--have I eaten recently? Ooog. 3 things to be thankful for: feeling better soon I hope, offers of help, and raindrops to listen to when I feel bad.-

April Ann Fong 10/19/2016 1:33 PMDay 6!
I'm pooped today, but I still did my indoor cycling class! Yay! My friend Linda made me homemade chicken soup--yum yum yum! So food is good. Not sure if I will go downtown tonight, but if I do, I will probably buy a bus ticket and a smoothie! 3 things I am thankful for today: my warm home (poor homeless people must be so cold!), my friend that made me soup, and my rain jacket! -
April Ann Fong 10/18/2016 7:23 PMDay 5!
I got taken to the Pcc cafeteria for lunch--yay! Smoothie and yakisoba, which is the most processed I've had during the ecochallenge oops! I bought a bus ticket today, because I needed an allergy shot. I did my walk/jog class so exercise is good. 3 things I'm grateful for today: an afternoon gap so I can get my allergy shots, trimet (i love public transit!!), and my tuition waiver so I can take Pcc PE classes and this financial planning workshop that I'm sitting in!
