Willamette University All-Campus!

"I am just a guy who is stoked to get the students out there in our local, regional and global communities in order to enrich the lives of others while growing and developing as leaders and participatory members of society. Helping learners move along developmental continuums related to cultural competence, environmental awareness, sense of civic responsibility, learning, and personal growth is a focus of my work as an educator. What I know as a professional is that volunteerism is one small way for an individual to set a good example as a leader. A true leader who lives and leads with integrity strives for deep engagement around troubling social and environmental issues and facilitates opportunities for those issues to be addressed on multiple levels. We should continue to address the symptoms of social, economic, and ecological problems through volunteerism, but we must also increase our focus and energy on the causes in an effort to resolve these problems at their source.
