Laurie Milliard 10/22/2016 6:43 PMBeautiful day today! I raked up leaves and picked up branches in the yard. -
Laurie Milliard 10/22/2016 11:30 AMI'm glad to learn you can go back a day to post. I had a lovely walk along the water yesterday on my lunch hour. Absolutely beautiful fall colors, lots of birds to watch, just right temperature. I was buried at work, never got a chance to log in during the day. Got home, had dinner, and went out to listen to music last night, and didn't get home until 2:00 a.m. I guess it was one of those days! -
Laurie Milliard 10/20/2016 6:48 PMIt was not a successful day for my eco challenge today. It was raining quite hard most of the day, which made the morning commute particularly slow. So I didn't have time to walk this morning. I went out to lunch for my birthday with my attorneys, which was great, but resulted in no lunch time walk. And it was raining again this evening, and dark, too, so again no walk. Tomorrow is another day! -
Laurie Milliard 10/19/2016 3:01 PMPretty nice day out there today! Colder than yesterday, but not too bad, and not raining while I was on my walk. Go team!! -
Laurie Milliard 10/17/2016 1:43 PMWent for a windy walk at lunch. Invigorating! -
Laurie Milliard 10/17/2016 1:43 PMIt was a bright, windy day for my walk along the water today. Really pretty windy! I thought I wouldn't need a hat because it was supposedly 53 degrees out. My ears were freezing on the way back! I was looking for birds, saw this beautiful seagull playing on the wind. That bird was moving fast! I could hardly snap a picture.-
Lisaana Otter 10/17/2016 4:38 PMWhat a beautiful walk! My lunch-hour walk was thru downtown Vancouver, where I marveled at debris left over from the saturday windstorm and (when I looked up) I was grateful for bright blue skies. They were momentary, thought!

Laurie Milliard 10/16/2016 5:45 PMThe big storm forecast for our area never materialized this weekend. We had a lot of rain, but not an unusual amount for fall in the Northwest and no unusually high winds, either. The weather predictors were sure off. Just goes to show the need for humility in dealing with nature. We are not always in control and can't even be 100% prepared for what is really going to happen with the weather or how our natural world will affect us. That's why it's always a good idea to out for a walk! Even if you walk the same way every day, there will be some surprises. -

Laurie Milliard 10/15/2016 8:35 PMLooking for some interesting parts of nature to write about, finding it filtered through city eyes. Everything is soggy, soggy, soggy. Lots of branches down from the early part of the storm. Will have to pick those up tomorrow, maybe. I heard some little birds in the trees this afternoon, but couldn't see them. our yard is like a nature preserve. Or it's kind of a mess! -
Laurie Milliard 10/15/2016 8:32 PMVery rainy day today, but I got outside during a break this afternoon, walked to the grocery store, then took a half an hour walk in my neighborhood. Felt good!
