A blustery day for the last day of the challenge. 2 weeks ago the trees were in their gorgeous autumn colors. Now many of them have lost their glorious foliage and they present their elegant skeletons (just in time for Halloween!).

it was so cold on Wednesday that when I went into my garden I saw none of the three little frogs. I think they have found it's time to hibernate.

A beautiful sunny day!  I was sad to see that 3 joined -together huge bushes had been cut down on my block. They overhung the sidewalk so you had to bend down to go under them, but I thought they looked really cool. I wish they'd only been trimmed back; I shall miss that little dark green tunnel.

This kind of day reminds me of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day....how many many leaves are down now!  Although the trees are still glorious, to say the least.

A bit of a challenge for my nature daily walk as it was rainy, colder, and blustery.  However the Northeast really needs rain now, and the rain made it interesting. BTW my World Wildlife blue and white panda umbrella kept me dry as I watched the leaves sweep about and kicked at stray acorns on the sidewalk.

I forgot to mention that while in my garden this past week I saw a third frog in Center Pond (a small pond I created). I could not believe it!  After no frogs for several weeks this summer, I'd been happy that there were two, and now...a third tiny frog. I just hope that fat snake I tried to catch does not return because I know he likes frogs (and not in a healthy way for the frogs!) Friday I visited Jenkinsens Aquarium, a place I really like, but I was so dismayed to hear that 100 million sharks a year are being killed for their fins....so very sad, and hard to stop.

Today I painted outside for the Paint Out! from noon until 5 at the Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, a boys' school K-8 with lovely grounds, huge old trees, and a great historic fieldstone mansion. Plenty of time to take in nature! Gorgeous sunny day. Pretty ride down there,as well.

On today's walk I really noticed which trees were changing color. Now they are doing this faster. And later, outside the church garden a big red fox came by. He was timid and although I tried, I only got a fleeting photo of him.

It's a beautiful, crisp day for Charlie's birthday.  Another grateful thing!
