~Bike to School~

For my EcoChallenge I will bike to school 3/5 days a week instead of drive. Hopefully by the end of the two weeks I will be in good enough shape to commute by bike every day. It’s only two miles from my place to the campus, but it is uphill and I'm no athlete.

Today I walked to school before realizing it was Wednesday, not Thursday, and that we didn't have class. And here I was all excited to have walked and been on time for once. Whoops.

Saw this tree on my route to school that's grown around a car fender.

Trying to walk to school has forced me to confront bad habits that up until now I've been doing PERFECTLY FINE (read : not fine) ignoring. Now in order to make it to class I have to think about such superfluous things like eating and sleeping.

I tried biking to school yesterday and the hill kicked my a**. So today I walked instead. I think I should change my goal from being able to bike to school every day to being able to bike to school period haha.

So I didn't bike to school Friday or today, and I'm starting to think my challenge of riding 3/5 days a week is a little unambitious. If I count weekends I'm not biking more days than I am biking, so I think I should add some more challenges.

I've had it in my head for a while that I want to bike to school but have never motivated myself to do it. I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to actually do what I say I want to do!

Ooo! Too bad the first days of the eco challenge are windstorm-predicted days! Good luck!!!
