End of the line for ecochallenge for 2016, but not for the great habits I've started!  I will continue to enjoy more sunrises and sunsets, get a little more sleep each day, and spend more time exercising outdoors.  It's been a wonderful two week adventure!

Started a Winter garden, and fertilized my citrus trees this evening before the rain started.  Looking forward to some healthy home grown vegetables and fruit this Winter!

Eating my breakfast outdoors each morning and watching the sunrise has been a fabulous way to start the day.  Everything seems so much more peaceful (except for the hummingbirds that fight at the feeder).  I may just make this a regular habit!

I made an appointment with a landscaper to remove a coastal redwood tree next to my house prior to the start of ecochallenge.  I was worried that the tree could blow over in a high wind and crunch either my neighbor's house or mine.  When the tree trimmer arrived to cut the tree down this week he called me at work and said it was one of the most beautiful coastal redwoods he had seen, and wanted to confirm that I really wanted it cut down.  He suggested that I "lace" it by removing some of the branches to give the tree a more open look that would allow more air and sunlight to penetrate.  He said it was the healthiest thing I could do for the tree, and it would look more like a Christmas tree.  Ecochallenge has taught me that I need to have a greater respect for nature, so I said don't cut it down, just go ahead and "lace" it.  I'm glad I did because the tree is absolutely beautiful, and it's still around to help rid the air of carbon dioxide.  Thanks ecochallenge for helping me get my head and priorities straight!

Took the Nature challenge of watching the sunrise this morning.  As it rose over the nearby hills this morning at 7:30am, I even heard a rooster crow!  One of the many benefits of living in a rural area!
