Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Biking this morning wasn't convenient, but I did it!   I keep reminding myself how many benefits there are to biking every time I go up a hill: the environment, health, saving wear and tear on the car, saving money for gas, setting a good example to Desmond and my students, and feeling good about myself--and measuring up to my husband just a small bit! :)

I finally got the Seafood Watch app., while I was in Atlanta Georgia for graduation in 2009, I went to the Aquarium and saw Grouper fish,  (*they are quite large and easy to catch) we learned they are being over harvested, in addition to learning it is a high demand consumer request but that they are headed for extinction because of our consumption.  It is just another reminder to be mindful of how and what we consume.

VegFest this weekend was awesome!  Being vegetarian/vegan is a huge positive for the environment because animal agriculture is responsible for so much methane in the air

We have 2 large capacity (350 gallons) rain barrels near our barn that can collect water run off from the roof, this weekend I plan to evaluation and develop a plan on getting them up and "running" to capture the fruits of mother nature...next summer I will have dahlia gardens that will need irrigation and the stored rain water will be a great addition and save energy on our well water system.

I discovered 2 recycling centers within my rural community that are open 7 days a week and the town of Yamhill has 2 places to take bottles and donate to the community support of youth and providing musical instruments.

COWSPIRACY is an incredible documentary that everyone should watch!  I had no idea Methane is an even bigger problem than CO2 emissions.
