This is my second year participating in the EcoChallenge event.  From the challenges I chose, the one I enjoyed the most was walking from home to Concord BART and Concord BART to home. It has left an impact on me to realize that we need to leave mother Earth's atmosphere in a better shape for our future kids.  I will still walk to/from home to BART when mornings are not too dark and especially when daylight time changes next year.  It will also help me to keep up with my health and I'm sure my doctor will be happy to hear this too.   Go EcoChallenge -- keep it up and I'm looking forward for next's year's challenges!  FYI - on my last day of walk challenge, I had escort to my house. I'm enjoying my challenges this year as well. The walking from home/BART station and BART station/Home have been rewarding not just by avoiding sending lbs of CO2 into earth's atmosphere but it has also helped me in my health and perhaps loosing a couple of lbs too :).  I have felt the energy after walking getting home and arriving at BART.  I'm glad I join this year again.

I forgot to load this photo from one of our Thursday's Farmer's Market in my town.  I stopped by after work from BART Station to Concord's downtown.  It was a beautiful evening.  Lots to choose from vegetables to fruits, bakery, etc.

Yesterday I took on the challenge of exploring a new nature walk/hike in my area. I chose Buena Vista Park, which I discovered mid-hike is actually the oldest formal park in San Francisco! It was a beautiful day for hiking and I managed to work up a sweat on some of the steeper sections of the hill, but the views are (true to the name) very rewarding. Below are 2 photos, one near the park's entrance on Haight Street, and another of the view looking north towards the Marin Headlands - that's St. Ignatius Church and USF in the background.

I typically go grocery shopping once a week and was excited to put my meal planning to the test yesterday! I found some good deals on produce and am hoping yesterday's shop might even last me a week and a half or 2 weeks if I can stretch what I already have at home. It's a great exercise in culinary creativity.

I've really been liking my new habit of writing down 3 things I'm grateful for every day. One of today's items: I got up long before sunrise and got to see a little bit of the city while most people are still asleep or getting ready for work. It's a view I haven't experienced in a long time.

Walk walk walk - today I walked to from Ferry parking lot the Ferry and then the Ferry Building to the office - about to turn around and do the trip in reverse - walked 2.5 miles already - so looks like I'm ready for the 10,000 steps!

I'll keep doing the collect rain whenever we get more rain in Concord, California; and I'll keep buying my fruits, vegetables etc from our local Farmer's market which it is on Tuesdays and Thursdays (concerts on evenings :) .
