Syeda Ali 10/28/2016 6:04 AMYAAAY!! Last day for the ecochallenge!! Instead of being on my phone this morning I woke up early and made breakfast for my family. It was great. -
Syeda Ali 10/27/2016 7:23 AMHello dolls! The challenge is almost over, Do not give up now. Today I have managed to spend two hours without my phone or computer or a television. Instead of sitting and wasting my life in front of a screen, I got up and worked out. It was my sister and I in our backyard with music blasting and sweating away the cookies we ate last night. It was great and I feel awesome now. -
Syeda Ali 10/26/2016 6:58 AMHello Bloggers today I have limited my social media to none so far. I have not touched any of my accounts because i am so busy with school. Let's see how long this lasts. -
Syeda Ali 10/25/2016 7:17 AMHello Bloggers!!! There are only a few more days of the eco challenge. So sad to see it go. Today I managed to avoid using my phone for an hour and hit the books. I have 2 midterms today and instead of sitting in front of my computer or television or phone, I managed to sit in front of my books for more than 5 hours without a distraction. Yay!! Good luck to anyone else out their trying to complete their eco challenge.-
Kelly Bauman (EcoChallenge Staff) 10/26/2016 10:57 AMNice work, Syeda! You've been a model EcoChallenger so far; I'll be excited to hear how you think removing distractions changed your study experience. Whether it improved your letter grades or not, I hope that you found the content of your studies more engaging.

Syeda Ali 10/24/2016 8:10 AMThis week I have worked 6 hours only. My managers are being generous and are letting me give up work time to study. Also I recently got sick. So I am feeling okay but, I am giving myself from working too much. 6 hours a week is not so bad! Ha! -
Syeda Ali 10/23/2016 7:21 AMToday I have not touched my social media accounts and I am not planning on touching it for the rest of the day. I have work which will absorb most of my day. After work I need to come back soon to study because my midterms are this week. I am hoping to use social media at night and that would be once. Hopefully I can resist the urge when someone tags me or comments on my social media accounts. Ha! -
Syeda Ali 10/22/2016 9:30 AMHello. Today I have taken off of work. Instead of working less than 8 hours, I am not working at all today. I have taken off in order to spend times with family and get some midterm studying done. I would much rather not work or study but it is midterm week and I cannot afford that. My managers were generous enough not to let me work. -
Syeda Ali 10/21/2016 7:42 AMHello!! Unfortunately I did not limit my use of social media to once per day, it was actually twice. I think that is a major change. I used to go on social media at least 20 times a day even if it was for like 30 seconds. I was addicted on being on my phone, and today I had limited it to once in the morning and the second I lay down I get to take one last look. Hopefully by the end of the challenge I can make it to once per day. Social media dictates my life and I can make a change. -
Syeda Ali 10/20/2016 1:59 PMHello Bloggers!!! Today was a stretch. Instead of sitting in front of a computer or on my phone, I spent my day with my boyfriend and we went on a date and have not touched our phones. We had a great time and when I came home, I began studying and have not touched my phone. I remembered that I almost forgot my daily ecochallenge and then I turned on my computer to write up my ejournal. Other then that I will try my best to not use any other screen time. -
Syeda Ali 10/19/2016 7:09 AMHello All! I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather as much as I am!! Unfortunately I did not completely utilize social media once per day, but I did it use it less. I used to check my phone constantly whenever I was free but I have began to let me phone go and enjoy my time with my friends and family (in real life) Today I have used social media 4 times that is a change from like 10 times a day.-
Kelly Bauman (EcoChallenge Staff) 10/19/2016 10:05 AMSmall changes! IMO, changing your behavior for the better is what this is all about; certainly don't beat yourself up for failing to meet a general target. Sounds like you're genuinely feeling more liberated from your tech, and that you're improving real human interaction in your life. You win!
