This has been fun and enlightening. I've enjoyed other's stories. Thank you for this opportunity.

Great! I am consciously turning off lights, using cold water when possible, and teaching my 2-yr-old great-grandson to turn off lights when leaving the room. He loves switches!

Why didn't I think of this before?  This morning, while running cold water from the hot water faucet, I happened to think that I could be brushing my teeth while waiting for the water to warm up.  So while the water was still cold, I brushed my teeth.  When it turned warm, I was ready to wash up!

I thought of you this morning - I added a glass beside the sink to use to catch the "warm up" water for teeth brushing.  It's one of my challenges, too.

This isn't one of my challenges, but I am replacing a large front room window (broken seal) with a higher-end energy efficient window.

So far, I've consciously stopped running the hot (yes, hot) water while brushing my teeth.  I'm teaching my 2-yr-old great-grandson to brush his teeth and I talk to him about turning the water (now cold) off unless he is rinsing his brush.  It's all good!

I've circled the house twice since I got home, and I've turned off lights in rooms not in use at the time.
