    Amazing approach and it works.

Not 100 % completed, but much accomplished because of the 2-week time frame.  If it rains tomorrow, that's it.  If not I'll do a tiny bit more for this year.  Some will have to wait for another time.  I am delighted with what was accomplished with my son's help in just 2 weeks.  Thanks for the challenge.

Finished pruning the Heavenly Bamboos--whew!  I accidentally broke off a piece I did not intend to break;  I hope it will forgive me and grow in the planter where I put it.  Friday rain is predicted, so I must finish cleaning two areas--the Clivias and the plants in the strawberry planter tomorrow.  It was great to have this incentive to do so much work in my back yard.

Beautiful day, clean air after the rain, and a feeling of fall in the air.  I worked at cleaning current plants--I was amazed at how I neglected them during the hot summer.  I am still pruning the Heavenly Bamboo--about 80% done.  I keep asking myself "is this really necessary?"  Maybe not, but I can't stop now after I am almost done.  They are beautiful plants and deserve to look great.  The new plants seem to be doing well (Hummingbird Yucca and California Fuschia).

We had a wonderful rain last night, so today was a clean-up day.

A bit cooler today, but I didn't feel like digging.  Instead I did one of my favorite activities--moving pots around for a new effect.  My son helped me with the big ones--much too heavy for me.  I also cleaned up plants that had straggling bits here and there. (more to do.)  I rewarded myself with some fresh-from-the-garden mint tea--iced, of course, and very tasty.

I spent a few minutes early this morning pruning the heavenly bamboo, but I have more to do as it got too hot to be working outside.  I am eager for the weather to change by Sunday so I can continue my work.  Looking good even now.

98 degrees here today.  I watered my plants to cool them off a bit.  My new California Fuschia is looking wonderful in spite of the heat.  I hope it attracts humming birds as it is supposed to.  The yucca looks fine also, but is not yet showing its colors.  It should be cooler in a couple days so I can finish my pruning.  The new breed of mint I added seems to be doing ok in the shade,  The new walk is much safer.

I checked to see if the newly planted plants needed water.  Got my son to move rocks in the rock path to make it safer for me.  It was too hot to spend much timer out side.  Went to physical therapy as usual twice a week.

Busy day today in the non-garden world.  I did manage to plant 4 seeds (in clay-looking balls) of plants for the Monarch butterflies.  More work on the back yard later.
