    I am looking forward to helping the environment by living a healthier lifestyle during this competition.

    I selected four challenges for this two-week period.  One challenge that I selected was from Simplicity; it was to limit social media to once per day.  I expected this to be quite a challenge for me as I like to keep up on my family and friend's lives.  I accomplished the goal and it really wasn't as hard as I expected.

    This has been a great challenge.  I have had several successes and a couple of misses over the last week but certainly have learned from this challenge.  One area where I have learned a lot is through the other Port staff blogs that are posted on the Port of Portland blog page.  Thank you for posting your successes and challenges and for what you are learning through your success and challenges.

    This challenge has already made me more aware of how my lifestyle was affecting the environment.  I am making changes in my lifestyle to be a better environmental steward.

    Looking through the various items that meet the requirements for the Wellness credit, I noticed that I do several of the items already.  It would be very tempting to just sign up for those items and get the easy credit.  However, the purpose of this eco-challenge is to do something that you don't already do.  Therefore, I signed up for four new items.  I am looking forward to meeting these new challenges that may end up being a normal part of my life.  Go team!
