Did you know that the Austin B500 coffee shop has reusable mugs?  Instead of getting a disposable cup, have a seat and sip from one of these colorful mugs.  Coffee tastes better in ceramic!

Today is the last day! This daily practice has raised my level of awareness about how my small individual actions each day do add up.  I hope to continue to be mindful of how my actions impact the environment.
Thank you to everyone who participated.

The meatless challenge is more difficult than I thought it would be.  :/

I know this one would be difficult for me too! I love BBQ so much! I think a better goal for me would need to be less meat, not be entirely meat free. At least to start. Gotta start somewhere!

My veggie garden is made up of several wicking beds.  This is great for the heat and lack of water in Central TX.  I was able to leave my garden for a week in the middle of Summer with no issues and no need to water daily.  It also eliminates the need to weed.

Very cool! Have never heard of a wicking bed. Gotta bookmark this idea for my future garden. :)

My favorite thing about composting is seeing unwanted waste turned into an extremely valuable resource.  It is like turning trash into gold.  If you have ever had to purchase garden soil, you know this is significant.  By composting all my food scraps, coffee grounds, and paper towels, I don't just avoid sending that waste to the landfill. I save $100 per year that I would otherwise have to spend on soil for the vegetable garden.

Did I mention I was going to harvest sweet potatoes from my garden?  These were 6 months in the making.  Stoke purple sweet potatoes, grown organically.
