What a great experience. Thanks Beaverton Greenies- we did a great job for our first Challenge. Thanks too to NWEI! -
Debra Kennedy 10/27/2016 2:00 PMIt felt so good to sit outside in the cool air today, even for just a half hour. The trees and birds are medicine for the soul. Happy day everyone! -
Debra Kennedy 10/26/2016 12:08 PMWe replaced our hand-held shower wand with a low flow shower hear. It's a little like showering under Niagara Falls because it really puts out a wide spray of water. I'm excited to see the reduction in my water bill after the 5 minute showers, turning the water off when brushing my teeth and generally being more mindful in how I use water. -
Debra Kennedy 10/25/2016 3:20 PMI just found out that Far West Fibers, my local recycling depot is less than a mile from my house. I can recycle even more than I do now! -
Debra Kennedy 10/23/2016 4:47 PMI forgot- I finished my volunteer project; made cards for service members to say I'm grateful for their service. -
Debra Kennedy 10/23/2016 4:44 PMStayed home all day. I didn't drive my car, I spent no money and I had two no waste meals. 5 daysto go! -
Debra Kennedy 10/22/2016 4:48 PMDidn't meet my challenge to avoid the clothes dryer. I can't use my left hand today because of an injury from an acupuncture treatment. Then I hurt my back trying to pick up my laundry basket with one hand. But, I feel ok that from four loads of laundry, I only used the dryer once. Not the goal, but close.
I spent an hour in line at the DEQ station this afternoon. I am shocked and dumbfounded at how many people sat in line with their cars running! I was in the minority by keeping my car turned off until it was time to move ahead. Lots of wasted gas and extra emissions in the air.
I'm not going to let that spoil my day - it's so beautiful. I sat outside and meditated. I am grateful for the crisp air, beautiful fall colors, and a quiet neighborhood. Peace out.-
Patricia Schrope 10/22/2016 4:57 PMI'm recovering from badly placed dry needling treatment. I've had diffuse pain and bruising. Be healed, and keep going with your determination. Peaceful days ahead, Debra.

Debra Kennedy 10/21/2016 4:09 PMWonderful not to work today. I sat on the deck drinking coffee, watched the birds and squirrels and a blue jay. I milked my 5 minute shower to the very last second; the warm water felt so good. Happy Friday everyone!

Debra Kennedy 10/20/2016 3:36 PMI week to go! So far so good. I'm looking forward to a long weekend. Go Beaverton Greenies! -
Debra Kennedy 10/19/2016 2:02 PMJust added a new challenge to drive less. Basically only driving to and from work. My weekly commute is reduced by 50 miles because I'm taking Friday off. Day 6 and things are great so far.
