I chose to limit my water use. Not using running water when I brush my teeth wasn’t too much of a challenge because it is unnecessary to even have it going. The real challenge was limiting my showers to 5 minutes. Personally I am a huge fan of long showers, and have the bad habit of taking them very regularly. It was difficult, especially after swim practice, but it saved water and at the same time created more time for me to do whatever.

This helps my relationship with the environment obviously by saving water, but also creates more uses for this saved water that would have been wasted on my pointless use of it.

I discovered that I take WAY longer than 5 minutes to shower, and use an ungodly amount of water in doing so. By realizing that taking these showers and leaving the water running while I brush my teeth is extremely wasteful and damaging to the environment which has raised my awareness in other areas of my water/energy use.
