I also signed up for the challenge where you only check social media accounts once a day. I deleted the apps off of my phone so that I wouldn't be tempted to check them throughout the day when I was bored or out of habit. I really enjoyed it- it allowed me to pay much more attention to life around me instead of being on my phone before class starts, or in between classes. After the first couple of days, I went days without checking social media accounts at all- I would forget to go back on and check, or else when I would go on, there were many times that I would log in then log back out because I didn't care enough to scroll through and check. I think doing this would be a good challenge for everyone, as we as a society are shown to be staring at our screens more than not. The only struggle was that (even though I don't like to say this), I get knowledge of a lot of current events from facebook, with people sharing news articles. Instead, I would take time to google search world and local news.

Not eating seafood was a challenge for me. For about a year now I haven't ate meat, but at restaurants I would usually go for seafood. This past two weeks included family birthdays and my mother graduating college- each of which we went out to restaurants. My entire family is big on meat eaters, so they were usually bar and grills or burger joints, and usually I would opt out and get fish (since most of them didn't offer vegetarian options). Since I couldn't eat fish these past two weeks, I was only able to get french fries, onion rings, coleslaw, etc. Even though it was tough, I learned that it was doable (but that you should plan ahead if you are going to a restaurant that you know doesn't serve vegetarian meals).
