Sandeep kryshna 10/28/2016 2:13 AMLastDay...!!
Many thoughts, Many actions, Many ideas, Many alternatives.. Just loved it..
New hopes have blossomed by seeing how people really do care about the planet, healing it one step at a time, by their actions
Let's carry forward these small changes & make them our way of life
I wish everyone to just give a thought, before doing every action, be it shopping, be it eating, be it travelling, be it any human action... about the carbon footprint of it. And opt for the better one if possible. Everything might not be possible, but look at eco friendly alternatives for everything your eye can see/ your body can do/your pocket can afford..:)
Finally, thanks NWEI for hosting such a mindful challenge. You really inspired many people to take up this..
Thanks Kate Barber for roping AMD into this challenge. Good to learn many AMDers doing great work
And.. Thanks to all other participants around the world
P.S: Expecting a carbon neutral world for EcoChallenge 2017 :P-
Kate Barber 10/28/2016 12:58 PMGreat closing comments, Sandeep! Thank you so much for participating and doing your part to help the environment. Glad to hear you enjoyed it as much as I did. Big credit to Justin Murrill as well for finding NWEI, who organized this, and for connecting us with the opportunity to participate. It's been so inspiring to see what individual actions AMDers are doing to make the world a better place and watching all our individual actions add up to big impact! Thanks again for taking part!

Sandeep kryshna 10/20/2016 8:17 AMAs always, I use cold water(99%) in washing machine until & unless my clothes are heavily soiled. In my wishlist is to use a natural detergent which not only removes dirt but also safe to use the outlet water(runoff) into the lawns or atleast should not spoil the ground water table
Note: I have researched two companies providing Natural detergents. Please start using them if you really care for the Planet

2. http://thesimplyco.com/collections/frontpage (in US -
Sandeep kryshna 10/20/2016 8:00 AMReplaced CFL bulb with local BEE 5 star rated LED bulb. Ofcourse CFL bulbs too reduce power but they contain Mercury which is hazardous for disposal.-
Kate Barber 10/21/2016 9:28 AMGood points! I'm slowly switching mine out to LEDs too. Amazing how much energy that saves. Fortunately, we have various hazardous disposal options available for the public in Austin. Speaking of - I just found a really great recycling website today that guides people on how/where to recycle different waste materials in their cities. Right now it only serves a few US cities but hopefully it will continue to expand worldwide so that everyone has easy access to information about responsible waste disposal. Here's the guide for Austin: http://www.recyclebycity.com/austin/guide
