Joanna Schaefer 10/27/2016 10:19 AMSo, I got in 7727 steps yesterday at Square Dance. I also made the decision (in an effort to reduce clutter) to only keep mason jars (of all sizes) on hand, and I started clearing out glass jars in my collection that are not masons, and put them in the recycling bin. This will make the effort to tame all the LIDS for all those jars easier, too, if I only have two sizes of lids and not eleventy-billion sizes of lids. -

Joanna Schaefer 10/24/2016 10:16 AMTime to find another donation box! There's going to be some more stuff I de-clutter from the kitchen this week, and probably a few more clothing items. -

Joanna Schaefer 10/22/2016 4:41 PMSaturday is such a great day to get things done! Went on a little nature walk on the Trolley Trail to downtown Milwaukie. There are some beautiful river views from there, I wish I would have remembered to bring my camera! We also packed up our donation boxes and dropped them off at Teen Challenge just down the road. -
Joanna Schaefer 10/21/2016 2:46 PMToday is my first day off in 11 days and I am exhausted but happy! Last night my spouse and I walked to dinner. Today, after a morning of self-care (massage & chiropractic), I started filling a bag of non-perishable food for donating to the food pantry, and made an appointment with a professional organizer to help me with some key cluttered areas of the house. We won't be getting together till after the challenge is over, but this feels good! -

Joanna Schaefer 10/19/2016 8:15 AMI didn't think my challenge this year would be such a challenge! Storm duty means that I haven't had a day off in a week and a half. We're in a really busy period that means I'm working through lunches to get work done. I've also been struggling with kidney stones the past couple of weeks. By the end of the day, I'm just zonked. I usually don't have such issues in getting in a walk after dinner, but life has presented challenges as she does! Tonight I know I'm going to get in some walking since I'm going Square Dancing. I'll usually get in about 7000 steps while dancing (roughly 3 miles). -
Joanna Schaefer 10/17/2016 7:16 AMAny other PGE folks get called in for Storm Duty this weekend? I was called in to work overnight Saturday to Sunday. I ended up working about ten hours, so Sunday was dedicated largely to sleeping and not walking. But I did some decluttering in the kitchen (donating some old canisters and other kitchen implements). We've collected about two boxes' worth of donations so far, and we're going to be donating our goodies to our favorite thrift shop, Teen Challenge, just down the street from us. -
Joanna Schaefer 10/14/2016 3:02 PMMy spouse and I have a plan to walk tonight after dinner. The week wears me out and I usually don't like to cook on Fridays, so maybe we'll go out and we'll walk TO dinner! Here's hoping the weather doesn't get too gnarly before then!
