Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/28/2016 6:44 PMEnjoyed a brisk walk outside in the sun today and I noticed the vibrant colored leaves scattered around like confetti. Each leaf a piece of art by mother nature... so thankful to be surrounded by such beauty. -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/28/2016 11:10 AMI feel like I need another week... this can't be over yet! Isn't it 3 weeks to create a new habit? I've been thinking how nice it would be to have more places to sit outside and listen to the rain... without getting drenched. Guess my umbrella will have to do! And what about a rain garden that is playful... making whimsical music, or moving the rain through a series of obstacles that one could follow as it flows... and inspired by nature of course. -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/27/2016 10:05 PMI enjoy meatless meals... tempeh is yummy! -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/26/2016 1:46 PMI spent over 8 hours in a windowless conference room between yesterday and today. This was quite hard to endure after so many days of practicing gratitude for the earth. It has really given me a new perspective as an architect. I have always felt that it was important to connect buildings to nature, but now I feel I have shifted in a profound way where I intimately understand why that is so critical. -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/23/2016 10:48 AMListening to the ocean waves this morning and I felt a deep sense of connection to our beautiful planet. I envisioned myself flying like a bird through the skies above the beaches, the dunes, and the forests. Every feature is so carefully woven together to create this earthly masterpiece. I am in awe of our planet and so grateful for this human experience to be apart of it. -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/22/2016 11:51 AMAt the coast... blue skies... calm winds... sunshine... birds whistling... showing gratitude for mother nature in her finest. -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/21/2016 11:17 PMAt the beach today... went for a nice long walk with my 8 month old attached to me. Marching in the sand made for a great workout. The sound of the ocean was so calming that baby fell asleep and even I went into a meditative state... 2 for 1 deal with my goals! -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/20/2016 1:11 PMVolleyball game tonight---- woop woop woop!!!!!!!!!! I love team sports for exercise... it just feels like fun instead of work! -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/20/2016 1:07 PMGoing good! Excited for a yurting trip this weekend in the great outdoors! I will be soaking up a heavy dose of mother nature and frolicking in the woods with my four year old son. We will be doing multiple scavenger hunts in the forest and along the beach for all sorts of beautiful artifacts... yay! -
Amy Scheckla-Cox 10/19/2016 12:30 PMThe challenge has definitely made me more mindful. I am happy to be thinking about exercise and nature and work-life balance. Even if I'm not able to achieve it for the day, I am happy to shift towards a mindful decision about how I spend my time. This is a great step in the right direction!
