    Last Day, Last Challenge ... Energy Saving Theme is On

    Finally i got a chance to change the Bulbs @Home.. Though we have a Solar panel setup for heating water from last 2 years i was always thinking of to get a better replacement for CFL BBulbs and finally i got this in store...

    1. Its  2 in 1 LED bulb.
    2. Saves up to 40% Energy over 15W CFL bulb.
    3. 806 Lumen

    The best thing i liked in this is it switches between Crystal White & Golden Yellow color.

    Challenges Accomplished:

    #Installed alternative energy systems, solar water heaters being running this from last 2 years.
     
    # we naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
     
    # Identified the problems with CFL bulb and replaced it with LED for saving energy.

    Though its in the Echo Challenge list i do have practice of tracking my BCA every month or the alternative month. Today i had my checkup for BCA and my B.F.P have come down by 3 % compared to last month. Way to go for me to stay fit.

    Its a well spent weekend for me as i got a chance to accomplish many activities in one go. i would say its perfectly planned.

    Being a member in Wanderers & YouthForSeva member, Here is how i have spent my Weekend in protecting the environment. Collected the garbage and sent that to the recycle store for better use of it. #SwatchBharat 

    The below are the challenges that i have accomplished till date

    # Am using a reusable bottle, Lunch Box at my workplace to minimize disposables.
     
    # we have signed up for a  Recycler activity to make the effective use of the waste that we have collected.
     
    Life is not just over-timing between the four walls of software cube... En-route the new routes... explore the unexplored...Fill up your soul with some memories... Stay Fit... Be Healthy...

    I Clean-up my bottle once in a week and instead of pouring this water in sinkhole i use them to water small plants inside the office premises.

      So eco-minded! I love it. This is something I really want to get better at. Every time I rinse a pot with water, I only seem to remember that I should be using it to hydrate the plants AFTER I've already poured it down the drain. :-( I need to get better and create the habit.

      Hi Kate Barber, we have the similar kind of boards across city in few hotels and there are few NGO's who even collect the eatable left our food in parties and serve them to the needy instead of dumping it in garbage.

      Such a great reminder! Where did you find this sign posted? I'm sorry to say I've never come across a sign like this in any businesses I've visited in the US, but hopefully that's not the experience of most people here... The first time I saw a sign like this was at a hotel I visited in Penang, Malaysia. Such an important message and I feel there should be signage like this in every "all you can eat" establishment.

      Yes, Kate Barber we see here a lot of participation citywide. we have seen the difference in traffic Thursday Vs Other weekdays. we are part of "RAGIRI", This Car Free Thursday initiative was taken up by the core committee of "RAGIRI"
