Liz Ferris 10/26/2016 8:00 PMI finally got the Seafood Watch app., while I was in Atlanta Georgia for graduation in 2009, I went to the Aquarium and saw Grouper fish, (*they are quite large and easy to catch) we learned they are being over harvested, in addition to learning it is a high demand consumer request but that they are headed for extinction because of our consumption. It is just another reminder to be mindful of how and what we consume. -
Liz Ferris 10/21/2016 12:53 PMWe have 2 large capacity (350 gallons) rain barrels near our barn that can collect water run off from the roof, this weekend I plan to evaluation and develop a plan on getting them up and "running" to capture the fruits of mother nature...next summer I will have dahlia gardens that will need irrigation and the stored rain water will be a great addition and save energy on our well water system. -
Liz Ferris 10/21/2016 12:44 PMI discovered 2 recycling centers within my rural community that are open 7 days a week and the town of Yamhill has 2 places to take bottles and donate to the community support of youth and providing musical instruments. -

Liz Ferris 10/13/2016 11:11 AMI am excited to see how much we are able to support a eco friendly way of living in the coming weeks. It is interesting how simple it will be to "shift" in learning to care for our environment for future generations.
