Carl Grimm 10/26/2016 9:21 AMDe-cluttering is so hard to start and so satisfying once I get into it! Happy my basement is cleaner now. But my ongoing conundrum is: what to do with the usable items I no longer need?
Goodwill has always been a go-to, but I have read so many negative stories of how they treat their employees that I try to use them as a last resort for donations.
My favorite (when it is not raining) is to put stuff on our driveway, snap a photo and post it for free on Craigslist. Now waiting for a weekend relatively free of rain for dealing with my basement clean-out bootie.
Anyone have favorite places to donate old clothes, baby stuff, & household items?
Of course the greatest source for ideas on this is Metro Recycling Information! 503-234-3000!

Jaylen Schmitt 10/28/2016 2:58 PMNorthwest Children's Outreach is a favorite of mine for kids clothes, toys, games and even baby items like sippy cups, dishes, crib sheets, bouncers, etc. They distribute to many local non-profits that serve children and families. Children's Book Bank right around the corner from them is a great place to take books too. Of course, Community Warehouse for household items is awesome. And yeah, you can always pop over the cubicles to see what others in the RIC have to say.
