Jewell Ray 10/28/2016 5:01 PMI did really terrible on cutting out foods with refined sugar. Watching that documentary the other night though helped me to understand why it's so hard. Sugar is addicting. So it's hard to just cut it out. -
Jewell Ray 10/26/2016 11:06 PMI watched the food documentary "Fed Up" with my sister. It's about childhood obesity. I have heard about a lot of these things and statistics. my sister and agreed on a lot of the points that were discussed. Sugar is a big part of the problem and is very addictive. -
Jewell Ray 10/23/2016 10:08 PMI am really struggling with cutting out refined sugar. It's so hard! Having been eating it all my life, I need to just start small and make sure that I have healthy food choices around the house that are easy to get to. -
Jewell Ray 10/21/2016 9:55 PMI wrote a thank you email to my sister. It feels really good to be able to tell someone how much you love and appreciate them. Hopefully it'll just keep the happiness and thankfulness rolling along to more and more people. -
Jewell Ray 10/18/2016 11:35 PMIt is so difficult to cut out foods with refined sugars! I feel like anywhere you look there's sugar. Producers just sneak it in wherever they can to get us hooked and it's definitely working! -
Jewell Ray 10/16/2016 8:47 PMDrove home from Sunriver today. Driving into Portland, it's pretty sad to see all of the trash everywhere. People just don't care that they are trashing the only home that we have. Other than that, the challenge is going well so far. -
Jewell Ray 10/15/2016 10:43 PMStill going strong! It's really hard to make good choices with food when you're out of town. Once I get home tomorrow, I plan to work on our menu for the week so I'm not buying a bunch of food I don't need. It's been raining a lot today too, but we were able to get outside for a little bit and take a nice walk.-
Sara Harding Mihm 10/15/2016 11:08 PMAwesome goal, Jewell! If you haven't heard of it, the Eat Smart Waste Less campaign through Washington County and City of Gresham is so helpful and full of resources to help us reduce food waste. http://www.eatsmartwasteless.com. Jewell Ray 10/14/2016 9:05 PMIt is pretty easy for me to take 5 minute showers, so that was an easy one! I like that I am going to be writing down things I am grateful for everyday. It gives me a more positive thought process throughout my day. I am in Sunriver this weekend, so it's going to be hard to cut out processed foods and things, but I look forward to starting that on Monday and continuing it for the rest of the challenge! -
Jewell Ray 10/14/2016 12:07 AMI am really looking forward to starting this challenge! I know it'll help me to make more conscious decisions of certain things in my life. I want to get my whole family in on the challenge too!
