Doing Our EarthShare Feed

BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

What I learned: I'm better about doing my challenge activities than I am about logging them - I didn't even report on the last three or four days, and after the end of the challenge, there's apparently not a way to retroactively log in what you did earlier.  Guess the "accountability" part isn't really all that important to me, though, so it's fine - I'll probably keep doing my challenges most days now anyway, so I'll have to pick new challenges for next year.  Also, I like the new website format this year, but wish there was a "like" button that could allow us to respond to other people's posts.  It was fun to read about what other teammates were doing for their challenges and what they discovered.

My  daughter  watched  one  of the Michael Pollan documentary episodes again tonight per her own request and is doing a poster for school about it (history of and making healthy bread) - very cool!

Hmmm, eating out and attending a party with potluck food makes it hard to avoid dairy and/or pesticides, I guess - vegetarian but not vegan and organic for both meals.

Decided to go with the food and water challenges this year, because things that are easy when I'm in the office (like eating vegan/organic and not resorting to plastic water bottles) always challenge me when I'm on the road.  But it seems like the food options have been better at workplace events this year - more fresh fruit (vegan, not necessarily organic) and more reusable dishwater/glasses instead of plastic.  Disappointing to show up at an event today, though, and find only salami sandwiches and bottled water on the lunch table.

(Oops, that would be "dishware," not dishwater!  I got auto-corrected!)

What results?  Did you get some good advice on "next steps"?

I purchased a multiplug for my TV and associated accessories so I can turn them all off at once and keep them all off unless in use.

Well, an hour in the pouring rain is not without its challenges, but it's also not without its rewards.

I will be attending the Native Plant Society of Oregon State Board meeting and briefing the board on conservation legislation I am introducing during the 2017 Oregon Legislative Session.
