Going well. Eating a vegan diet is easier than I imagined. I have been doing it since September 18th and having this challenge is really nice to keep me on track. I've lost 8 pounds and have eaten more food than I normally eat. I only miss ice crème and the coconut stuff isn't that bad. In a few months I won't even notice a difference.

The passion for healing Earth sparked a few years back when it finally hit me just how critical our role is as humans to begin healing ourselves for the sake of that healing outwardly effecting other forms of life... and how that all connects back to the Earth itself. Earth is a broken system that needs our help, and any way that we can become mindful of our actions and the effects they have on others and the Environment, is one step closer to fixing this broken system.

This Earth gives us life, we should be grateful for her, and when we lose sight of who we are and our purpose here, we lose touch with that gratitude for life. The environment thrives when we thrive, and if we cannot bring awareness to that truth in any way possible, we lose precious time each day with the beautiful duality of nature and it's gifts to us and other beings that equally have a right to be here. Environmental issues impact each of us, whether you are a person, animal or plant, whether you are white, black or asian, we all are a part of a system that is failing. Any action we feel drawn towards, any passion we wish to pursue, we should pursue that... Following that pull will lead us back into balance with ourselves, therefore balancing what is unbalanced within the system, and bringing a sense of harmony to what's being harmed.

Looking towards the systems in place politically and economically that keep us divided and separate us from our true purposes, are where we should start... because with these systems in place, little can be moved without the actions of those of us standing up... Systems that, without us, would not work or support those in power and control of those business', laws, regulations, educational systems, food production, etc... Without US, they would not BE. So start small, start local, start wise, balance it out and dream big. Alone we have an impact, but collectively, we can make change.
