Even with a 1/2 hour lunch today, I forced myself to go out and take a walk.  5,097 steps so far.....just gotta duplicate the walking and hit my goal of 10,000.

8,886 steps as of 3:50 pm and feeling good about being on-pace to hit my daily goal of 10,000.  This challenge doesn't let me slack too much.

Haven't felt good today, but took a walk at lunch to keep up with the challenge.  Hope I'm not getting sick!

Wishing my walks near work were as enjoyable as my walks near home.  *sigh*

Had to reduce the number of Challenges/Actions I had going.  It's part of simplifying my life.  :-)

Did my favorite 4+ mile walk this Sunday.  No rain at all.  It's truly my favorite Sunday activity, walking around my neighborhood and hitting the two local Starbucks for a sandwich and a drink.

Daily walks and Pokémon Go are like chocolate and peanut butter.  :-)

Yes! I was thinking yesterday that Pokemon Go and voting might be a good pairing too... someone should set up some gyms near polling stations! :)

Anyone know of the best places to get GOOD plastic storage bins and the like (at really good prices)?  To de-clutter the inside of the house, I want to store more things in the garage (I'll toss some things from there first), but hate buying plastic bins and fear all the little critters and moisture will get into my things.

I like TJ Maxx because they have some good prices.  However, their products tend to go quickly so it is hard to find what you need.  A few months ago I found three great plastic storage bins at TJ Maxx and the prices were about 25% less than typical retail.

I have had good luck at Fred Meyer, but if i need something more specialized I like The Container Store and Storables. You can sometimes find coupons or sales at all of these places if you are trying to get a good deal.  The Click and Pick up service at The Container Store is awesome if you know exactly what you need.

I always start at Goodwill (gold star to me, right?) not only because I try to support reuse but because I am thrifty. But, when I really need to buy several all at once, I try Ace Hardware first because it is closest to home and they carry Rubbermaid, which is a pretty reliable brand. If they don't have it, I go to Fred Meyer.

This challenge will go nicely with the changes I started to put in place in February of this year.  I had a doctor's visit and the number on the scale made me sick to my stomach.  I haven't been that heavy since pregnancy, so it was a shock to my system.  I knew I gained weight during my layoff, but to actually see the number was depressing.  I had seen it hover in the area, but for some reason this particular day was the last straw.  I decided then and there I didn't want to be an overweight mom and I should do everything to lose weight, gain energy, and spend more time with my son.  I've lost at least 18 pounds to this point and Pokémon Go is encouraging my son to walk with me some, so it's all good.  I just need to focus more on making life simple and just unclutter my surroundings.  I know I need to start putting things in place before the challenge actually starts, but I haven't had that "last straw" moment that gets me going.  I'll need momentum to carry me through and make it so I won't have to consciously remember to do the things I've said I would do.....they should just come naturally and not just be for a 2-week period.  I better get some motivation fast!!

You go girl! I have had a similar scale shock myself, and am happy to say that greening my commute is already helping tackle that. If you want to get started earlier, you could always check out the DriveLess Campaign too... I think it would be neat to continue a commitment there over into EcoChallenge and work on this all of October!  www.drivelessconnect.com/
