The NJDEP volunteer Sustainability Action Group for the Environment (vSAGE) is a group of NJDEP employees from different programs and with different backgrounds that have come together with a common mission: A sustainable NJDEP conserves material and resources, is energy efficient and promotes environmentally preferable practices in its operations and procurement in a socially and economically responsible manner.

October 28 at 8:06 PMDay 15: a cool Fall day here in NJ; was able to complete 1 of my 2 daily challenges. Couldn't hang outdoors for 30+ minutes due to having a medical procedure today. October 28 at 5:12 PMSpent most of today working on my volunteer activities for the Farmers Market, Green Team, League of Women Voters, and as Liturgy Coordinator at my Church. I have definitely reached my 12 hour goal for the last 2 weeks and then some.

We collect #5 Plastic, styrofoam egg cartons, wine corks, dental care products, plastic bags & film, and CDs/DVDs. None of these items are allowed in curbside recycling in Mercer County. All materials are taken to companies for recycling, often...
